silo effects don’t magically go away when you switch to an adfree community backed distributed whatever model. do you have control over your identity and content? can you interact without being part of the silo? by all metrics except corporate, fedi is a silo by default. it takes effort to break those effects. i don’t know if anyone is willing to put that effort in when they can just imitate silos
