Just recently realized that Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was written by Ian Fleming (the author of the James Bond books) and produced by Albert Brocolli (the producer of the Bond movies).

It gave me a whole different perspective on the naming of the female lead in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang: Truly Scrumptious is just a bit more family friendly than the names of the Bond girls.

Also: this factoid implies that James Bond is in the same universe as Chitty... does Caractacus Potts (or his heirs) go on to form/join the Q division?
