it's particularly disappointing that microsoft is going all-in on AI because vscode is otherwise a very good editor (it singlehandedly made me reconsider voluntarily using an element app as my main text editor! that takes very good design) and their development tools division knows what they're doing well (pylance is great, intellisense isn't terrible either even if clangd is much better)
