This is the fifty second time I've said this, but QEMU's handling of EFI blobs is suboptimal, and I strongly dislike working with VM conversions across platforms - even when the same EFI blobs exist and the same emulator options are in place. It's clunky, annoying, and it makes me miss bhyve and xen.
