So, the reason that prompted me to ask this having listened to several interviews with people (over, some well-over, 45) who marvelled how great their teachers were in general.

And I know hardly anyone my age or younger who says that.

If my statistics (which I'm terrible at) aren't very wrong, then for both cohorts the answers aren't that far off a coin toss (I believe the 45+ cohort is no further than 1.5σ off).
