I keep seeing comparisons along the lines of "trying to ban LLMs in classrooms is like trying to ban calculators!"

There's something interesting buried in there, I think. Calculators possibly have made me worse at basic arithmetic, sure. But I'm OK with that because basic arithmetic isn't something I especially want to spend my time doing, given that calculators exist.

So what tasks do LLMs automate away, and that'd I'd like to be rid of?
