Reading the Google blog post on their new Android lock down, and it sounds both far less bad and far worse in different respects?

• Only applies to devices with Play Protect enabled, which IIUC excludes Android forks like GrapheneOS?
• The only app review is linking apps to a government ID.
• Wait, government ID? That's fucking terrible!
