I've had lots of unpopular ideas over the years, too, but that's never led me to be an AI booster. More seriously, taken on the merits, assuming that AI is inevitable ("current tactics for trying to stop big tech will not work, because they didn't work in the last generation") is a bad argument, and bears no resemblance to harm reduction ethics.
