In my previous career, merely suggesting that a conference or journal adopt a code of conduct would result in my getting screamed at over and over again by people more than a decade my senior in the field.

You know what fucking worked? Using what platform I had to name and shame every single conference in quantum computing that didn't have a code of conduct. I made fucking *noise* until shit changed.
