通信衛星はむかしは静止軌道にしか居なかったので通信の遅延がけっこうあった (って36000 km / 3e5 km/sec ×2で240 msec程度か) ので、屈折率が1.5くらいあっても海底ケーブル (地球を1/4周すると10000 km / 3e5 km/sec ×1.5 ×2で200 msec)の方は遅延が小さかった(って言うほどじゃないな)んだけどStarlinkみたいに低高度の通信衛星がどっさりある現代だと衛星通信の方が遅延は小さいかもよね。そして独裁社長のひとこえで通信途絶←
