@0xabad1deaabadidea another cursed fact about the reserved filenames: COM¹, COM², COM³, LPT¹, LPT², and LPT³ are reserved. but not COM or LPT⁴ through ⁹, because only "the 8-bit ISO/IEC 8859-1 superscript digits" are considered equivalent to ASCII digits for file name purposes.
