I hate to do this but if you're not CW-ing your political posts I'm unfollowing/muting you. It's not about avoiding bad news. It's about making those posts a pull not a push. In other words, I will read them when I'm ready and able to process them - not every time someone feels upset, outraged or concerned.

This is how we maintain our energy for the bigger fight - by avoiding despair through conserving/maintaining our emotional energy. When hopelessness sets in, surrender can follow.

There's one post I can't move and I wonder if it is because it is a federated post. The post is one out of several that are off-topic, so I want to move that whole side-discussion into its own topic. The only post I can't move is the federated post. What could be the reason?

It would be nice if peertube videos could be moved into forum topics and display embedded. Either keeping a local copy, or embedding by linking could work. It can only be done by downloading and posting a new topic which works, but breaks the federated conversation.

i think it's astonishing that i went from the lowest (Förderhauptschule in psychiatric clinic) to the highest (kit.edu university) form of German education in only 3 years

i had to switch through 4 different schools for that and always adjust to an even higher difficulty that was totally new when i switched

i even skipped one year, and this kind of journey is one of the rarest and hardest battles you can fight in this education system because of course the school won't do anything to help you in this fucked up bureaucratic process

i also did the delta exam at university of Mannheim which allows me to study at a university even though i don't have a fully qualifying Abitur/degree, and its success rate is also really low

i went through so many hoops and obstacles to be where i am now, like i ran away from home at 17 while i did my final degree while suing my parents, then i was homeless in Berlin for a while and then i moved to Karlsruhe to study at the hardest and most prominent computer science university of Germany :D

and now i'm here, with ~7 years of DevOps experience as a 19 year old and still i'm struggling to find a job that will prevent me from becoming homeless again because of the tech bubble job market crash

This book was recommended by my therapist. I am so glad I found it. This author's life mirrors some of my own. I felt the heartbreak of breaking free from a broken family, and I felt the struggles of starting a higher education after almost no real schooling (thanks, mom). I had to earn my GED first, but close enough.
Honestly, it was so hard for me that it took a couple of years to read it. It has a special place on my bookshelf.

Glad to share a fun weekend project, a powerful node in a waterproof & rugged case, for use in comms blackout situations/emergencies. It allows for texting across the mesh with a smartphone.

It also has an offline WiFi network serving both the Collapsible wiki, and simple usage instructions.

The solar panel trickle-charges a roomy LiPo that should give more than a week of cover, with phone charge port behind it. Has spare antenna (orange rope is for lifting the baseplate out)

Nowadays, when I need to compose articles in multiple languages, such as English, Korean, and Japanese, I draft them in Sonnet. By providing the data that should be included in the content and the constraints, it produces a pretty good draft. is a language model, so it is quite good at writing—especially if you need to work with multiple languages.
