In my journey as a developer, I have made significant contributions to the open-source world. Over **two decades ago**, I started with **Drupal**, where many of my modules are still actively used and maintained today. I have what one might call an abnormal fixation on paws, but if you ask any of my friends they'll probably tell you: "Nah, that's just Owa being Owa." My favorite series is The Legend of Zelda and I will occasionally blather about it, especially if I am currently playing one of the games. Out of all of them, my favorite is Majora's Mask.
I will also frequently post dog things and about the mysterious being known only as "Updog" who is actually just me on the ceiling.

I will say goodbye to this platform for now. After I hardly posted anything between November and the end of January for health reasons and didn't miss it, I said I'd try it for a month and then I'll decide.
I had been having problems with the platform for a long time and had shifted my activities more to Twitter because there was more to my interests there. What interests me is hacking, electronics, science, retrocomputing or old technology in general and also a little politics.
The latter is quickly ticked off, on Mastodon there are mostly left-wing politics and people who confirm in circles that they are right. Even though I have the same opinion in most cases, it's too shallow for me. I want to hear other opinions, have my own questioned and learn new things. This is not possible here because there is actually no discourse. I like diversity, also or especially in terms of content and opinions.
I haven't posted much about retro computers or electronics in the last year, although I always had a lot of fun sharing repairs or providing background information. At first I only had negative feedback when I posted new additions to my collection, later on almost every post where I showed some exotic hardware. Some little brats flooded my DMs and kept saying that I should check my privileges before I bring something like that. I found this strange, especially when it came to repairs, because 75% or more of the devices were not mine, but from others. I think they just hit their heads hard. People like that poison the platform so you don't want to be here anymore. By the way, this never happened to me on Twitter.
I belong to the generation that grew up without social media and that has a life outside of it. If social media is an enrichment of my life, then I like to use it, but I don't see mastodon as such. It's a waste of time for me and for months I've actually only been posting out of a kind of sense of duty to support an alternative platform.
That's why I've put my account on autoexpire for three months and won't contribute any further content for now. Maybe I'll post one or two event notices in the future.

Ich werd mich vorerst von der Plattform verabschieden. Nachdem ich zwischen November und Ende Januar aus gesundheitlichen Gründen kaum etwas gepostet und es auch nicht vermisst hatte, hab ich mir gesagt ich probiere es mal eine Monat und dann entscheide ich.
Schon länger hatte ich meine Probleme mit der Plattform und hatte meine Aktivitäten wieder mehr zu Twitter verlagert, da dort mehr für meine Interessen zu finden ist. Was mich interessiert ist Hacking, Elektronik, Wissenschaft, Retrocomputing bzw. alte Technik generell und auch ein wenig Politik.
Letzteres ist schnell abgehakt, auf Mastodon gibts überwiegend Linke Politik und Leute, die sich im Kreise bestätigen, dass sie Recht haben. Auch wenn ich inhaltlich in den allermeisten Fällen der gleichen Meinung bin, ist mir das zu flach. Ich möchte andere Meinungen hören, meine eigene hinterfragt bekommen und Neues lernen. Das ist hier nicht möglich, da es faktisch keinen Diskurs gibt. Ich mag Diversität, auch bei Inhalten und Meinungen.
Zu Retrocomputern oder Elektronik habe ich im letzten Jahr kaum noch etwas gepostet, obwohl mir es immer viel Spass gemacht hat Reparaturen zu teilen oder Hintergründe zu vermitteln. Anfangs hatte ich nur negatives Feedback, wenn ich Neuzugänge in meiner Sammlung gepostet habe, später bei so gut wie jedem Post wo ich irgendwelche exotische Technik gezeigt habe. Irgendwelche Göhren haben meine DMs geflutet und meinten immer wieder, dass ich meine Privilegien checken soll bevor ich sowas bringe. Gerade bei den Reparaturen fand ich das seltsam, weil 75% oder mehr der Geräte waren nicht meine, sondern von anderen. Ich glaube die haben sich einfach nur heftig an der Lampe gestossen. Solche Leute vergiften die Plattform, so dass man nicht mehr hier sein will. Bei Twitter ist mir das übrigens nie passiert.
Ich gehöre zu der Generation, die ohne Social Media aufgewachsen ist und die ein Leben ausserhalb davon hat. Wenn Social Media eine Bereicherung meines Lebens darstellt, dann nutze ich es gerne, aber Mastodon empfinde ich nicht als solches. Es ist für mich Zeitverschwendung und seit Monaten poste ich eigentlich nur aus einer Art Pflichtgefühlt um eine alternative Plattform zu supporten.
Deswegen habe ich meinen Account auf Autoexpire von drei Monaten gestellt und werde erst Mal keine weiteren inhaltlichen Sachen beitragen. Eventuell poste ich in Zukunft mal den einen oder anderen Veranstaltungshinweis.
