OpenAI image generation

Not sure if there is a reason other than Disney being Disney, but trying to get chatgpt to generate an image "in the style of Disney" fails because of "content policy".

I'm not that invested into the questions wheter it is possible to trial-and-error until you have a prompt that generates you an image. I've already seen and reblogged 3 different blog posts about how this whole campaign is made to humilate Ghibli, but it is very striking.

I fell in love w/ Xiaomi 14 Ultra's cameras and photo processing, and watched many videos of photographers doing amazing street photography with it. But I can't deal with the possible (likely?) privacy invasion of a full-on Chinese phone.

So it is. It's reputed to be a good fit for Pixel refugees. They're based in London. It's a bit arbitrary but I find it comforting (non-US, non-China). I ordered a 3a for my wife. I personally might wait for the Phone 3.

3/3

@teleclimberOlivier Forget If I didn't need a new phone straight away like I do now, I would also want to wait for the flagship model 3. I totally concur with all your points about privacy concerns with full-on Chinese phones and Nothing's AI is not so in your face.

I recommend my favourite firewall app netguard.me/ to manage connections from all user and system apps. Hope you and your wife enjoys the Nothing experience. I hope it works for me too haha. Still setting it up...

I have a rather sad post today. This sweet boy is no longer in the physical realm with us. His kitty cat dementia and other health issues just became too much for him.

He had an episode where it seemed like he didn't recognize any of us and he's been with us since he was a teeny kitten. He attacked our other cat and was growling at everyone, even his puppies who loved so much.

I'm not really a cat person... never have been but he sure did make it a lot easier to think about being a cat person.

Bye Moby.

Me cradling my tuxedo kitty Moby while i sit on my bed. My tuxedo kitty Moby looking up at me trying to use the force to convince me to let him up on my bed.Moby sitting with one of his puppies in the pet bed.The only boy i'd ever let get on top of me. My tuxedo kitty Moby laying on my chest and belly as i lay on the ground.

Did a fish inspire one of the most famous works of gothic horror literature? A pet theory of mine.

In 1847 a ship bound from the Mediterranean to England is caught in a terrible storm in the Bay of Biscay. The crew are supersitious that a mysterious, coffin-like box on board the ship could be the cause of their bad fortune. The box bears only the address of an Oxford academic - could it be a cadaver bound for the doctor's dissection table? Soon the crew are demanding for the box to be opened. The carpenter removes the fastenings from the box, opens the lid and reveals ... a large Tuna packed in salt.

So today I have a different question, which is that if you are effectively filtering / managing the cognitive load of living through the pre-apocalypse, and like, actually doing a job and just generally not having your mental health being a puddle of useless slag white-hot with anxiety, *how* are you managing right now? I could really use some tips here.

@taoTerence Tao but maybe we are talking about different AI? If this is going to come out of an LLM, definitely is not personalized. Furthermore, claiming that a personalized teaching plan can be extruded from an automated system devaluates the rol of teaching assistants, teachers and people involved in education.

I was planning to write here a short text about how, when considering whether to use AI for a task, that one should take into account not only the difficulty/complexity of the task, but also the acceptable failure rate; for instance, using an AI to suggest a recipe for dinner has an acceptable failure rate when just cooking for oneself, but would be inadvisable for a head chef preparing a state banquet for a high-profile diplomatic function, even if the two tasks are essentially of comparable difficulty (per person served, at least). But I realized that since this writing task was itself simple and with a high acceptable failure rate, it made sense to just to let an AI summarize this point directly in a table form, as enclosed below; it contains minor imperfections, but certainly suffices for the task at hand. [My prompt for this can be found at chatgpt.com/share/67e813bc-590 ]

An AI-generated matrix to summarize when AI tooling is recommended for use.

Paul Parker, recording clerk for Quakers in Britain, said: “No-one has been arrested in a Quaker meeting house in living memory.

“This aggressive violation of our place of worship and the forceful removal of young people holding a protest group meeting clearly shows what happens when a society criminalises protest.

“Freedom of speech, assembly, and fair trials are an essential part of free public debate which underpins democracy."

This game has taken 7 months to make. That's far too long for a simple little platformer like this.

But I poured a lot of *me* into this game.

I've put a lot of my thoughts, feelings, worries, desires in here.

It's about Identity, Imposter syndrome, the hoops we have to jump through in society. It's got a lot of allegory in there.

Writing it has left me mentally exhausted.

But I needed to make this game.

This is a great example of why the web rocks. Safari and Chrome disagreed on the spec, so we ended up with a third, better spec. This wouldn't happen if one company controlled everything: webkit.org/blog/16587/item-flo
