@dvlDan Langille @lejax Munin is probably my favorite first stage metric system, but in a place that’s growing fast it’s often then first thing I have to replace due to thundering herd. But really, most shops are better suited to munin style architecture than prometheus.

A lot of modern shoes consist of a hollow matrix with thin cardboard insoles on top. When that insole fails, despite the sole and upper still being perfectly usable, the shoes are unwearable.
I cut a thin piece of plastic from a food container and insert it under the insole. The shoes last a lot longer and are more comfortable.

Random rant re: claiming your online space as a creator of any stripe.
Create connections with your people, not corporate platforms. As in:
"My online shop" *not* "My Etsy shop"
"My newsletter" *not* "My Substack" (or Ghost, etc)
I get that for some people, Substack is currently their only viable option. They do not need the marketing boost.
And I've seen so many times, for two decades now, "Oh look at the cute thing I found on Etsy!" with zero mention of the person who made it. Zero. Reinforce your name, not theirs.
Repetition = recognition. You bust your ass to build your thing. Make sure people remember you, not a corporate platform that could turn on a dime. You deserve better.

* 비밀번호를 켰다 -> SIM PIN을 설정했다
* 열쇠공이 집 문을 따고 열쇠를 통째로 바꿈 -> SIM 스와핑 공격에 당함
* 열쇠 사진이 누출되어서 누군가가 복제 열쇠를 만듦 -> K가 누출되어서 누가 SIM을 복제함
SIM PIN을 설정하라는 글이 나도는데, 저 비유에서 금고 비밀번호를 아무리 바꿔 봤자 열쇠 그 자체가 무력화되면 아무 소용이 없다.

The EU is introducing an energy label for phones, together with mandatory requirements for phones sold in the EU;
- 5 years of software updates (AFTER they stop selling the device in the EU)
- providing important hardware parts (during sale and for 7 years after), including free software (if needed), to every repair shop, within 5-10 business days
- batteries have to make 800 charging cycles and still be above 80% original capacity
And on top of that, phones and tablets need this energy label (which also includes a fall damage durability and repairability score), and abide by the above requirements, from 20 June 2025.

I myself once spent a week struggling with FVWM on #OpenBSD . But OpenBSD, alas, has very old version in base, circa 2002 due to licensing reasons. So I couldn't do many things I wanted to do.
FVWM feels extremely strange and simply crazy when you delve into config files. But then configuration syntax starts to make sense and you feel you can do just about anything with it. I couldn't, though. =(

晚上伴侶去看演唱會，我先回家
因為甜點差不多黃昏才吃，本來想簡單弄點夜宵，等伴侶回來一起吃就好
離開的時候有問伴侶兩塊整塊雞胸兩個人吃會不會太多，伴侶說不會。真正切的時候覺得果然還是太多了，調整成1.5塊
煎好雞胸、炒好菠菜，伴侶就剛好回來了。然後一大盤雞胸就被他完全掃掉了，我只吃了兩口的菠菜一點不剩

晚上順便看完《新幹線大爆破》，兩個人一邊看一邊吐槽。這部電影除了那個偵辦案件的刑警，其他角色都讓人很火大耶，而且說教味也太濃。還有這麼高效的日本警察，絕對不可能

This is the c# ilo vm, with a basic framebuffer for graphical output, and a port of Arland's DEC terminal emulation subset for console stuff. It runs the simple graphics tests from the ilo-x11.c implementation.
There's more work to do (esp. with regards to performance), but I'm taking a break now to spend some time outside.
