一張連署書的重量
騎機車的民眾拿來連署書，字跡工整，但紙張上的摺痕很明顯是有不少傳遞的痕跡。
拿到連署書的志工，仔細核對證件，住址，上面的各個資訊有沒有填寫不正確，超出格子，簽名是否可以正確辨識。
沒想到姓名寫錯格子！看著滿臉灰心拿著連署書來的連署人，搔搔頭想說還要回去再給家人寫一次好麻煩。
志工叮嚀：這個連署書這樣寫，一定是會被退件，你都這麼努力簽了，一定比我們更不想白費，我們還會在這裡站一個小時，你回去簽了還可以拿回來，我們還在。果不其然，這樣的話語讓連署人聽了非常受用，沒多久就看他風塵僕僕的把連署書拿來，這次終於對了。
看著志工細心整理這兩個小時的收穫，核對無誤後，把得來不易的連署書夾好，放在最不會掉的地方，因為他們知道這些來自民眾的託付的紙張，就是每個人意志的延伸，就這樣寫在這張紙上。
沒有親身參與，很難想像，這個區域幾萬份的連署書，每週超過40個站點，輪班的志工，一份一份這樣簽著拿回來。
沒拿錢卻做著這個拿錢也不想幹的事情，疲勞總是會寫在臉上，但領頭的志工覺得好像還是可以繼續，差一點就過關了。
而我覺得讓大家還繼續撐下去的是，那每一份連署書的重量。

@glyph enough for recommending Naomi Novik’s Scholomance trilogy a few weeks back. It took me a few days to get through the first book, then 1.5 days to read the latter two as I couldn’t put them down. Now I get to ask myself, “at what cost does this comfort me” and while it’s not a fun question to ask, it’s one I should’ve started asking earlier.
I voted early, in person, in the Canadian federal election last Monday. In Canada, we don't typically stack local, provincial and federal elections; they happen on separate days. We also only rarely have referenda or other direct democracy votes.
Consequently, I went into the booth and had one choice, the person I wanted to be my member of Parliament for the next session. It took about 30 seconds for me to check that I had the right selection, put my X, and drop it in the ballot box.
