Just as "web log" became the even more awkward "blog", I suggest we change "newsletter" into "slet"

Then we can talk about the sletosphere, have startups like sletspot and sletlines, etc. It'll be terrible, as nature intended

The internet routing table has lost about 5,000 IPv4+IPv6 prefixes after grid power Spain/Portugal was lost, and the number is still slowly going down as I assume batteries/generators run out.

I assume most prefixes are still announced while their final destinations are unreachable

(Graph is from a one of the sessions bgp.tools has with a T1)

看过 Adolescence (混沌少年时) :star_solid: :star_solid: :star_solid: :star_solid: :star_half:
neodb.social/tv/season/2yzMeIe

Various Iberian Internet Exchanges have either seen at least 1/2 of traffic (the remaining traffic will be machine to machine, or international), or in some cases 1/4, GigaPix seems to have entirely gone (or the monitoring infra has died)

I cannot thank @glyph enough for recommending Naomi Novik’s Scholomance trilogy a few weeks back. It took me a few days to get through the first book, then 1.5 days to read the latter two as I couldn’t put them down. Now I get to ask myself, “at what cost does this comfort me” and while it’s not a fun question to ask, it’s one I should’ve started asking earlier.

I voted early, in person, in the Canadian federal election last Monday. In Canada, we don't typically stack local, provincial and federal elections; they happen on separate days. We also only rarely have referenda or other direct democracy votes.

Consequently, I went into the booth and had one choice, the person I wanted to be my member of Parliament for the next session. It took about 30 seconds for me to check that I had the right selection, put my X, and drop it in the ballot box.
