What is Hackers' Pub?

Hackers' Pub is a place for software engineers to share their knowledge and experience with each other. It's also an ActivityPub-enabled social network, so you can follow your favorite hackers in the fediverse and get their latest posts in your feed.

@carbsrule_en@polyglot.cityBennolius 😷⚡ @smallcircles@social.coopjust small circles 🕊 LibreLingo looks interesting because it's free software (not just open source or gratis). I don't use DuoLingo either because it's non-free software, that should be the main reason to avoid it to begin with. All non-free software enshittifies. Its reason to exist is to lure in users and then abuse them for the profit of the developer. Anything that is non-free software is no better than DuoLingo.

I guess my search for a free software language learning application supporting Indonesian will not end today.

REMINDER: Hachyderm will be going offline for a bit at the top of the hour (14:00 UTC) while we do some database maintenance. :blobfoxscience:

Specifically, we're cutting over to some shiny, new database infrastructure to get us off the database server we've been using since we moved off @novaKris Nóva's Watertower.

Thank you for all you've done for us, dear database server. :postgres_logo: :hachyderm:

Coloured pencil drawing of a Norse völve or seeress in a blue cloak with a hood that is closed with a triangular brooch over a dress with tortoise brooches and colourful bead necklaces. The dark blue dye of the dress and the jewellery show her important status. Her face is white with make-up, her eyes rimmed dark. Behind her are two birch trunks in the background. On the left side, a hand with three rings holds a wooden staff.

I need !

Searching for a specific post on men using micro aggressions like voice raising to control a situation against women.

I had it saved for a year then my bookmarks decided to just up and delete 🙃

Been needing it for educational purposes! If anyone has any leads!

appreciated!

*EDIT* *edit* *EdIT*
IT’S (kind of) BEEN FOUND!😬

The one I thought was the link, is a separate one. Apparently I mixed up two different reads. One was a teacher going to a DV shelter, the one I’m looking for is of a man who had gone to college for womens studies only to learn later he was using micro aggressions like raising his voice to control a situation against women. I am looking for the later. I am sorry for the mix up, and I am still looking. I appreciate everyones joining in on the ride 😁

Still can’t find the original but I found something that is similar thats just as good

The European Central Bank Consumer Expectations Survey calls out that “recent US tariffs may lead to a broader shift in preferences, causing Europeans to move away from US products and brands altogether, regardless of price changes.”

"around 44% of respondents expressed a willingness to shift their spending away from US products, irrespective of the tariff rate and primarily due to a preference to switch away”
