Since I've been using my Nikon 300mm zoom leans for more than just reading the model numbers of cell sites recently, I've bought a Tamron 18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD for the camera body I actually like to use!

Walked around today after getting lunch for some first attempts, the AF is so much faster (to be fair I think my Nikon 300mm is slightly broken anyway)

That kind of agency is addictive. Especially when the rest of life doesn’t offer it. We program because we can, even when we shouldn’t. Because at least it gives us something to rebel against."

something that genuinely pisses me the fuck off about trans surgeries is that there's so much gatekeeping bullshit you have to jump through for it

I should not need two mental health professionals to say "yep, she needs this, it's kinda making her life living hell" when I am
living that every single fucking day

it should be informed fucking consent like HRT

I was checking if anubis works to protect against LLM by quering chatgpt " summarize michal.sapka.pl/2025/catbus/". This in not-public draft of the post (final one has "the" prefix).
GPT gives answer.

WTF I think.

I had a grep on post-anubis log to show me this link. Nothing, nada.

WTF is going on I think.

Then, I read the summary GPT gave me.

----------------------------

"Certainly! Here’s a concise summary of [michal.sapka.pl/2025/catbus/](:

---

## Summary: Catbus

The blog post introduces **Catbus**, Michał Sapka’s open-source tool for tracking changes in directory contents.

**Key points:**

- **Purpose:** Catbus periodically scans specified directories and logs any changes (added, removed, or modified files).
- **How it works:** Rather than using OS-level notifications (like inotify), Catbus works by taking snapshots of directories at intervals and comparing them over time.
- **Privacy & Simplicity:** All data remains local; there are no cloud uploads or external dependencies. Catbus is meant to be lightweight and easy to use.
- **Configuration:** The tool uses a TOML file to let users specify which directories to monitor and what behaviors to enable.
- **Use cases:** Catbus is useful for backup monitoring, detecting unwanted file changes, and maintaining an audit trail in a privacy-conscious manner.
- **Status:** The project is in early development, with the author encouraging feedback and contributions.

---

Catbus is a simple, privacy-friendly, and local tool for auditing file changes by periodically scanning directories and recording any differences it finds.
**In brief:** Catbus is a simple, privacy-friendly, and local tool for auditing file changes by periodically scanning directories and recording any differences it finds.

---------------------------

I have no idea if I should laugh more or be angry.
But yeah - at it's best. Nothing of the summary is correct, it never did what I asked it and lied about it all. I'm using gpt-4.1 which should is a "new" model I guess.

Fuck this future.

The powerful APIs that power our fedidb.com website are open to all.

We appreciate the fact that our APIs aren't being abused, and will keep these open without the need for API keys/registration.

You can do some pretty neat things, like find all open PeerTube servers in Asia, running the latest version api.fedidb.org/v1.1/software/p

"Open source Electronic Design Automation can be a game changer when it comes to building a more resilient & accessible chip ecosystem."
In our new episode we talk to Christophe Alexandre / @xtofalexChristophe Alexandre. Together with Noam Cohen/ @nanocohNoam Cohen he created Naja, a EDA tool.
"Trying to grow a new EDA ecosystem in Europe with the old closed model just isn't realistic. If we want to build something resilient, open source needs to at the core of the strategy.

Trump condemns Mexico and the south for “open borders” and demands the border is shut down, while condemning Canada for an “imaginary line” on the map and demands the border be dissolved.

If you still don’t see the overt white supremacy as the motivation behind Trump’s “immigration” policy, it’s because you don’t want to see it, or you’re complicit.

My 25 years of palaeoart chronology...

One of my larger projects from 2023 was illustrating DINOSAUR BEHAVIOUR, by Prof Michael Benton. Not only was this a fun subject but I was able to read the whole book & compose the illustration list myself.
