Hackers' Pub is a place for software engineers to share their knowledge and experience with each other. It's also an ActivityPub-enabled social network, so you can follow your favorite hackers in the fediverse and get their latest posts in your feed.

A lot of updates yesterday, and the firsts public tests, along with bugfixing. Wasn't expecting it to blow up as much as it did, even if for now the bot is basically just a dice. Hopefully when more features are out, it attracts a bit more attention.
Current features:
- User accounts
- Rolling
- Creating characters
- Roll history
- Send, receive and save character images (Directly from the fediverse!)
- Instance whitelisting
- Replies are either dms or unlisted (for less spam)
Immediate to do:
- Whitelist system but for Users
- Add time limitation on rolls
Long term:
- Trading
- Card burning (exchanging low star cards for a roll)
- Favorite chars, "status", "owned cards" or "cooldown" commands
- Public post when someone rolls a rare card
- Leaderboards
- Most traded Characters
- Most owned Characters
- Most voted Characters
- Most popular Characters (?)
- Users with the rarest Characters
- Simple card template, and a website to place images in the card.
- Add pleroma support (Currently only works with misskey)

You need a webserver that has files with CIDR formatted prefixes, one per line, eg:

I guess if someone is a better sysadmin than me and knows how to deal with recipient servers auto-marking emails containing sexy language as spam, independent hosting could still work? I've been paying £30/month for newsletter hosting and would happily continue doing so. But I spent a few months trying to send to my (entirely opt-in) mailing list from my own server, and I couldn't find a way to stop my domain getting marked as a spam sender by the big email hosts 🤷

Labour’s plans for immigration will undoubtedly spawn a new wave of hostile environment policies that use digital technology, AI and automated systems to track, surveil and make life-changing decisions about #migrants.
We urgently need a ban on #AI in areas such as #immigration and policing, where it is being used to treat people as a potential threat.
The government should be focusing on these harms rather than buying into Reform’s rhetoric.

請問一個人出來當政治人物，不是為了選舉，不然呢？難道只是想當網紅還是什麼？
既然想當政治人物，那當然就是對公共議題會有想法，有意見，無論是針對執政還是在野黨，也一定要發表自己的看法，讓公民去判斷這個政治人物是否符合自己心中對該職位的期待。
難道其他大黨的政治人物就都不是「為了私利」或是「只是想選舉」？？？
抑或是，對這些留言的人來說，只有那些大黨的政治人物可以「為了私利」或是「只是想選舉」？？？

@ianthetechieIan Wagner that’s right! - the idea is that types and logical ordering remain unaffected, but internally the compiler is allowed to freely reorder structures as long as it preserves those invariants. This is very similar to how atomic orderings work!
The only reason we wouldn’t just always apply this is because type systems can’t/don't track all side effects. Which means that just like with memory orderings, the programmer has to explicitly communicate which futures must be sequential.
