We just got back from our "waterfest," backpacking in the White Mountains, New Hampshire! Hiked up two rivers, crossing many small tributaries. Camped near one of the streams, having meals by it and falling asleep listening to the sounds of rushing water. And, the new tent held up against the rain at night! Had a great time!

Photo looking upstream of a river that has a mountain peak off in the distance. Water is rushing around large gray boulders in the river and green trees line the banks on each side.

Franconia Brook as viewed from footbridge that connects Lincoln Woods Trail and Franconia Brook Trail.Photo of hiker walking across a small stream. The hiker's pants are rolled up so as not to get wet. The hiker has a white backpack on her back and a trekking pole in each hand, which are used for balance while crossing the stream. A large tree that had fallen across the stream is in the foreground. Green trees line the bank of the stream.

Hellgate Brook at intersection with Franconia Brook Trail. This is Lori who I hiked with on this trip.Photo of waterfall in green forested area. The water is flowing over and between large rock slabs. Some of the gray slabs of rock are in the foreground.

Franconia Falls. We saw these falls on a side trip on our return from the campsite.Photo of tent in green forested area. The tent is located on a flat section of ground that is covered with leaves. Trees are immediately behind the tent. The tent has gray material (rain fly) over an orange base (the orange seen is the bathtub floor at base of netted inner tent).

Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL3 Long tent with ground tarp underneath. With no wind, only four stakes are used-- one each for the two vestibules shown on left/right sides, and one each on the other sides to stretch the rain fly over the inner tent (one is shown in the foreground).

dumb shell fzf(1) trick for deleting multiple disjoint files

Often times I want to delete files based on something in the filename that isn't really able to be done with a glob. Commonly that's a bunch of podcast downloads and I want to delete the ones that don't interest me:

$ ls | fzf -m --print0 | xargs -0 rm

I can type filenames to quick-filter and use tab/shift+tab to select/deselect those files, and press ยซenterยป to delete them.

If you don't have spaces or other weird characters in your filenames, you can skip the "--print0" and "-0" options.

I cross-posted something from one subreddit to another and I got permanently banned from the latter one. It was the first time I posted to it as well. It took a single post to have that happen. All in an effort to spread word on more options for folks to find jobs and work at good places.

Lots of sensitive snowflakes on the internet these days if it takes one post for that to happen. Good riddance to them.
