Having lived in Prague for a very long time, I did sometimes joked about Brno being a train stop to Vienna.

After traveling a lot this year on trains, living at a train stop to Vienna feels smarter than living in the middle of nowhere.

It may sound harsh but from Prague to nearest stop on the other side of the border it's at least 2 hours (Dresden).

Which is the same time as traveling to the other side of the country (Brno, Olomouc).

From Brno it's an hour on trains and bicycle to the nearest border. On top of it trains leave every hour or more often compared to Prague where it's every two hours.

No wonder I felt stuck there with my limited amount of spoons.

(I am not complaining about being in this market town, there are hills and when I have enough of people I can go to the woods for a bit.)

a lot of his job (think "plant with chemicals and raw materials") involves writing reports. he: 1. has domain expertise 2. doesn't particularly like writing 3. finds blank pages intimidating
