OSBuilder (closed source, obfuscated) refused to compress splash screens for the Lumia 800 since it uses a different resolution, so here's a tool i made to do it anyway https://github.com/InvoxiPlayGames/XPRSplashTool
the Lumia 800 has illuminated buttons and the way they work is just the OLED stretching out past the visible area and below the buttons - the splash screen initialises this area to white and the OS doesn't clear it. so by changing the splash screen, you can actually change the colour of the buttons!
The home server is back to native FreeBSD - the operation required less than 10 minutes - most of them have been used to unplug, take it to the upper floor, replug - unplug it again, take it back to the lower floor, and plug it back in.
Everything's fine.
Everything's working.
I'll document this setup on a blog post, in the coming days.
The power and simplicity of #FreeBSD always win.

일론의 xAI의 전 엔지니어인 리쉐천 (Xuechen Li) 이라는 분이 있음 최근 이 분은 회사 핵심 코드랑 비밀 자료를 빼돌려 OpenAI에 넘겼다는 혐의로 소송을 당함. 이 분은 퇴사 직후 xAI 주식 700만 달러치 매각했고, 그 직후 자료 다운로드→개인 기기 전송→로그 삭제를 한 정황 있음. 8월 14일 내부 미팅에서 사실 인정했다는 주장도 있음. 그리고 8월 19일 OpenAI 합류 예정이었는데, xAI 측이 법원에 이직 금지 명령 요청했음. 아마도 뭔일이 있어서 어떻게든 일론을 엿먹이려고 이런것 같긴한데...

One thing that I have been waiting for, but that has never come up in discussions on generative AI on my feed is something way more disturbing than creative jobs being replaced or even automated scams.
It is a facet that has sometimes been touched on, but not been elaborated enough.
It is the ability to completely destroy any decentralization of power over information present on the net and more.
The net is no longer a viable source of information.
But it is even worse than that.
