thank you @fediforum for helping us connect with @TCMuffinJayne :wales_flag:🇪🇺🏳️‍🌈 & @lexicaleighCressida 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 🌻 - ace moderators of the toot.wales instance.

Not only are we now but we're also hatching plans to help others find the way in the ...hopefully en masse! 💪

But first...

Do buddy systems already exist? 🙌

Would a buddy system be helpful to others? 🤝

Is there a catchy name for transitioning from big tech platforms or can we make one up!? 🤔

Do you want to be involved?!! 👀

Please boost!!

How about Fire Exit? Particularly relevant given corporate media's role in distracting people from climate science.

Yes! I've had all sorts of ideas. Like tools that use IndieWeb POSSE tech to extract people's data from the , and import it into their chosen community-hosted replacements.

The GL.iNet Comet iKVM is pretty cool basically plug and play, had it up and running in < 5 minutes (including firmware update). Wish it had shipped with super short cables and that the USB-C power port also supported data. WiFi would be nice too. Honestly best feature was same day availability from Amazon.

i'm still reeling from the revelation that microsoft's new xbox handheld can't play xbox games.

microsoft is going to release an xbox branded game system that can't play every halo game. or gears of war. or forza.

the ps vita could play PSP and PS1 games. the fucking vita.

the xbox 360 could (with varying degrees of success) run about half of the original xbox library. with a different CPU architecture, half a gig of RAM, and a tri-core CPU with no out-of-order execution. in a cave. with a box of scraps

I buy a lot of cheap "DIY Electronics" Kits on Aliexpress put them together, the more confusing the more fun it is. But I write up better instructions and observations so if students want to build the same kit they can.

Some kits I do not tell anyone about because they are terrible. But really? Most of them are great. If you don't mind reading a datasheet or doing some detective work.

But I think blogging about "Kit Adventures" might be interesting.

It's amazing the fun you can have.
