Thinking about code size reminded me of being a kid in the 90s and reading through code like https://github.com/legacy-codedigger/aPLib-1.1.1/blob/84374fbf3d2be4820c835aeb06dbe82333a216f7/src/32bit/depack.asm for the first time while trying to understand all the little tricks and nuances. There are probably even better examples but the apack/aplib depacker is tight.

I just got home from the #NoKings protest in #OKC.
Early numbers reports and a statement from the rally podium say THIS WAS THE BIGGEST PROTEST IN #OKLAHOMA HISTORY.
It was gorgeous.
We marched for about 1.2 miles to the rallying point outside City Hall. This took about 30 min.
Spouse & I were with 5 friends (3 more joined us later). By the time we had been at the rallying point for 20 min, the marchers further back WERE STILL COMING.
Literally every flavor of human represented.

I think we're in this awful state of layouts because of full-height sidebars and compressing the title bar into the toolbar.
Full-height sidebars do not aid in anything. They just serve to eat more of your toolbar space. When you mix that with combining the toolbar with the titlebar -- well you end up with no space at all...
I think this forced Apple Design to moving player controls to the bottom. #UIUX #macOSTahoe
