Mastodon 4.4, now available, has a small setting that’s a big deal. See Administration/Server Settings/Discovery, “Allow external sites to see your Mastodon server as a traffic source”.
It means that every time you post a link to a site, that site is going to see as many hits as the number of instances that you have followers on, and those hits are going to be labeled as coming from Mastodon.
This is going to seriously increase Fediverse visibility. Get your instance admin to turn it on!
One of my coworkers refers to Open Source as “the most incredible thing humanity has ever accomplished.” When he says that, he’s not making a socioeconomic or political statement, nor is he ignoring technical shortcomings. Rather, he is making an observation about how millions of people have created this immense pile of loosely coupled legos that actually all kind of fit together, without any central direction or fiat authority, with the only final arbiter being user adoption.

회사 중국인 직원이 자기 학부때 교수 밑에서 알바하던것을 설명해줘서 들을 기회가 있었는데 위성사진 태깅이라고 해서 놀랐음 무려 매일 10시간을 했다던데 근데 이게 상당히 어려운 전문적인 일일텐데 정말 중국스케일로 막 굴리면서 한것 같긴함 하여간 애가 이거한뒤 트라우마가 생겨서 비젼쪽 하다가 결국 때려치고 다른 분야하는 것 같긴함 잘 알지만 하지 않음 ㅎㅎ 1달에 1천위안 (20만원 좀 안됨) 정도 주고 했는데 석사가 그당시 800위안 정도 받았다고 하니 중국은 인건비가 너무나도 낮은것...

The new version of Mastodon server has an optional admin feature where referrers can be sent when people click links. Enable it for large servers.
Here’s it in action - when people on my Mastodon server click links to my blog, I can see they’re from Mastodon. Other publishers can too. It will drive the importance of Mastodon as a platform. Almost all my traffic is under “direct”, which I strongly suspect is Mastodon servers without the feature enabled.

관세 뉴스는 더이상 악재가 되지 못하는것 같다 어짜피 다들 트황상은 8월 1일에 또 TACO할것이라고 다들 믿는것 같은데 이제 트황상은 대략 두-세가지 선택이 있음: 1) TACO하고 즉 협상이 안끝난곳을 유예하고 미국 자산 시장(?)을 살림 2) 이번엔 TACO 안하고 그냥 밀어붙임 3) 1과 2의 어디쯤 중간? 근데 정말로 구리 관세 50%면 엄청난것인데도 전혀 반응이 없는것이 놀랍고...
대충 6월 말쯤 예상했는데, 이번 최임 협상에서 노측이 회담장을 나간 건 일종의 WWE가 아닐까 싶습니다. 현 시점에서는 정말 취약 자영업자 문제가 매우 커서, 당장 크게 인상하기보다 소비쿠폰을 비롯한 지원금과 각종 노동 관련 법안을 통과시켜주는, 일종의 트레이드 오프를 해서 최임은 사용자쪽에 더 무게를 두는걸로 간거 같은데요. 앞으로 노동/내수 관련 법안을 계속 봐야겠지만, 어제 지역화폐 국가지원 의무화 법안도 통과된걸 보면 내년 최임은 현실화 될거같아요. (참고 : www.newspim.com/news/view/20...)
