If you want to rename your network interface you can simply use:
$ sudo ifconfig em0 name lan0
(Renaming the interface to "lan0")
To make this permanent you can put the following into rc.conf/rc.conf.local:
ifconfig_em0_name="lan0"

I've fallen into another repair rabbit hole.
TL;DR: Repairability of household devices is a joke.
I'm saying that from the perspective of a person that has a motivation and has repaired or at least tried to repair almost all devices that are in our household.
I am able to use multimeter, solder loose connections, replace relays, 3d design and print broken plastic parts, order parts from obscure online shops.
But still, this is not enough.

The release of Debian 13 "Trixie" is near as the Full Freeze starts on July 27th. The final release it set for August 9th.
Debian 13 will add official support for riscv64, a total amount of 11294 new packages, over 42821 packages will be updated, and it will transition to 64-bit time_t ABI
