1944年9月の「美術」という雑誌に掲載されている座談会、陸軍報道部から二人、美術史家、ほかは美術評論家が9人、司会は山脇巌という面子なのだが、時局からするとそうとう呑気な話をしているのと、陸軍報道部の秋山という中佐が時局的な美術とかもいいんだけど、敗走のなかでも静かな表現を生みだせるのは日本の芸術の良さなのではないか、みたいなことを言っていて、驚くほどリベラルな考えを吐露している。リベラルすぎて評論家たちがもっと戦争画をやろうと言う始末ですごい。陸軍にいて敗北必至とすでに内情がわかっているから、せめて芸術性のたかい表現が生まれてほしいというのがあったのかもしれない。

Do you want MySQL with the best possible performance? Then stick to version 5.6, as long as you don't mind it's been EOL for 12 years. 5.7 also has better performance than newer versions, although not as good as 5.6. Some performance regressions are just not being fixed.

^^ Veteran database performance guru, Mark Callaghan, former tech lead for MySQL at Facebook and Google, is now an independent consultant who blogs about database benchmarking.

(For my own account as a MariaDB fanboy I must add that another option could be migrating to MariaDB which is a plug-in replacement for MySQL 5.6, as MariaDB has done a better job at avoiding and fixing performance regressions.)

My future NetBSD server finally arrived MWA-HA-HA !

Basically, it is just a part of POS terminal, so I can say that I run my services on the cash register.

But inside of it there is a fanless PC with a little motherboard and the top board with a 6 RS232 connectors, two USB connectors and a SATA for 2.5' hard drive.

4 Gb memory, Intel Atom N2800, 64 Gb SSD and free space for (another SSD?) WiFi card, integrated TWO (!) 1 Gbit Ethernet and much more USB, RS232 and VGA + HDMI connectors.

It works completely quiet, and just a slightly warming up when Window 7 is working.

After I change the CR2032 battery and find a M3x17 brass stand for PCB (one is missing ) — I'll install #NetBSD on it and will enjoy #selfhosting , finally

I was playing with Gemini yesterday (the evil google ai not the cool alternative networking protocol) and was surprised that it's able to speak Toki Pona quite well. You can ask it to translate a sentence and responds. Granted I don't know much #TokiPona so it could be doing a totally horrible job but I was surprised it even tried tbh
