That NodeJS supply chain hack incident is amazing because the threat actor(tm) got RCE access to like a billion devices and ran the world’s shittest Etherum dumper.

Imagine if they had done reverse shells instead, or automated lateral movement to ransomware deployment NotPetya style.

The thing that saved companies here was the threat actor was incompetent crypto boy, nothing more.

No more WFH for Microsoft employees. Microsoft is sending employees back to the office at least three days a week. The first phase will be for employees who live near its Seattle-area headquarters in February.

I made another couple of pages in my book. It's super enjoyable. I love seeing the way the plot evolves. How the sentences are chosen so carefully to make the result inevitable and feel so natural. But I'm in awe of it. The author brings the reader with them so beautifully it almost feels like you are in the story.

Fun, impromptu shoot on Sunday with a dear friend who decided that, given it’s now September, we are now in Spooky Season and the Purple Bat Dress needed to come out.

(Cross-posted from my site, where there are additional photos: andrewflenniken.com/2025/09/09)

Originally she’d booked me to do her and her husband’s anniversary shoot that day but circumstances dictated a reschedule. She kept the appointment with her makeup artist though, put on The Dress, and we went out to their back yard and did a little shoot anyway. I almost always shoot primes when doing portraits, but used this as an opportunity to play around with the 70-200mm f2.8 as a portrait lens. I admit this is not an unusual choice generally, I just don’t normally use it for this kind of shooting. :D

I’m pretty happy with the results!

Have a Spooky Season outfit you want to immortalize? Hit me up via my contact form and let’s get something on the books.

Gear: Nikon Z 7II, Nikon 70-200mm f2.8

Color photo. A woman with long, curly gray hair. She's wearing a purple dress with black bats on it, a black belt, and a necklace with a black and silver pendant. Her left hand is on her hip, and her right hand is holding up the side of her dress. She's smiling.
