Plenty of my real relationships are with trans people who are worried about losing their civil rights. The governor thinks trans people only live in dark corners of the internet and aren't IRL community members. Turning toward my real relationships radicalizes me against people like Cox & Kirk.

There has been an absolute fuckton of outright fear mongering about QC timelines from post-quantum consultants. I absolutely agree that the right time to deploy PQC is now, but also? You *personally* probably don't have much to fear from QC.
To be clear, there are absolutely exceptions! If you personally need to keep secrets safe from nation-state or equivalent actors for 30+ years, can't rely on PFS or symmetric key cryptosystems, and find yourself unusually resistant to rubber hose cryptanalysis, then yeah, you're part of why I used the word "probably."
My least favorite part of my own personal experiences on masto would have to be that any time I mention quantum computing, I get folks explaining it to me.
There's exceptionally few people on the planet who know more about QC than me, on the order of 100 or so, given my 20 years doing that shit, and having outright invented significant parts of it.
When I say that QC probably shouldn't be part of your personal threat model, I mean it.

At least 187 code packages made available through the JavaScript repository NPM have been infected with a self-replicating worm that steals credentials from developers and publishes those secrets on GitHub, experts warn. The malware, which briefly infected multiple code packages from the security vendor CrowdStrike, steals and publishes even more credentials every time an infected package is installed.
