OKAY. Windows 10 EOL is right around the corner in ~2 weeks.

Because I've had to put out multiple all-caps panic attack fires within my own friend circle over this bullshit, I just spent my Monday night after work writing an article outlining a few paths forward post 10-pocalypse that anyone wondering what to do can do.

R-18とNSFWを分けて欲しいというのは下記の理由からやらない。
1. 分ければ分けるほど新規ユーザーが理解しにくくなるから
2. R-18とNSFWを分けると、次はエロとグロで分けて欲しいなどさらに細分化の要望が来るから
3. 利用者の快適性のための機能ではなく事業者としてのゾーニングのための機能だから

また説明の通り今回のお知らせ前後でNSFWの基準は特に厳しくもなってない。

fun fact number one: if you lose your internet and reconnect, outlook for web will appear to continue working, but will no longer receive incoming emails. this can be fixed by reloading the page

fun fact number two: outlook for web has a handy keyboard shortcut for replying to the email you're reading! it's ctrl+R.

wait a minute... these facts aren't fun at all :(

I have this blog post idea kicking around in my head, which seems totally inadvisable but which I’m probably going to waste months of my life on at some point. It goes something like…

It seems decently well known that you can simulate dependent types with GADTs and higher-kinded types. I’m pretty sure that object algebras let you simulate GADTs, or at least certain aspects of them. I don’t really understand the GADTs-as-dependent-types things well, so I don’t know whether it requires something extra (like existential types), but those can be encoded as well. And brands allow you to shoehorn higher-kinded types into TypeScript.

Do you see where I’m going with this

Let’s get this straight: this is a PeerTube co-op.

And I’ve been getting a lot of questions about what’s going to be allowed on it—what kind of content can be hosted, how (or if) it could be monetized, and who decides.

So let me be absolutely clear. I actually cannot emphasize this enough: that is not my call to make.

I’m not going to decide. I’m not going to dictate from on high. Whatever happens will be consensus-driven. It has to be democratic. It has to be policy set not by me—but by we.

I’m setting up the initial structure, but once we hit five members, governance shifts to collective control. Here’s what I’m proposing as a starting point—and here’s how we’ll transition to full democratic governance.

If you want to shape that policy—if you want a voice on what’s allowable, whether there’ll be ads, a Patreon-style system, or commercial videos—you need to be part of the decision-making. Because that’s the entire point of a co-op.

And to do that—to help decide what gets hosted, how it’s run, and yes, even what the pricing looks like—you need to be a member-owner.

Right now, the proposed entry is a one-time $50 membership fee, plus a $5.95 monthly subscription (all in Canadian dollars—convert as needed). This isn’t set in stone—it’s a starting point aimed at long-term sustainability.

And the only people who get to decide whether it stays this way or changes are the member-owners themselves.

What that gives you isn’t just upload rights. You’re not a customer. You’re a co-founder. You’re someone with a legal seat at the table—something YouTube and most Fediverse services don’t offer.

You’re not just a creative uploading videos. You’re a co-owner of this whole shebang. And with that, you get to decide—with me and everyone else—how this thing is run.

In Rust would you write it

use rocket_db_pools::{Database, diesel};

or

use rocket_db_pools::{diesel, Database};

ie should I put lowercase or uppercase first when alphabetizing. It feels weird for structs (specific) to go before modules (general)
