I'm really happy someone said it. I have felt really excluded in this environment and I could never really put my finger on it. A decade ago, I contributed a number of patches for an open source database project under my real name. It was one of the only enjoyable experiences I ever had with open source, because the database was a niche project, designed for a very particular kind of dataset, and the author immediately thanked me for the patches. He was clearly overworked and grateful. This is a feeling I now work hard to reproduce in my little cloister, where we'll keep working until we have something ready to explain itself. It feels like a shame that it has to be that way, because the second you give something a face, you're expected to compete.

Monoculture is a death spiral. I want to create things that reflects specific virtues and use cases I care about. I take a really dim view of people telling me to do something marketable. I want it to satisfy specific criteria. It's driven by me, not a market.

At the JHA Council press conference (yesterday), the Danish Minister of Justice encourages journalists to "follow the money" on how the narrative has arised (from 6:40 newsroom.consilium.europa.eu/e).

Peter Hummelgaard is very careful not to make direct accusations.

In Denmark, he is less careful and has said directly to DR that tech companies are behind the opposition to Chat Control dr.dk/nyheder/udland/eu/morgen

Needless to say, without presenting any evidence for this absurd claim..

When asked about security problems with client-side scanning, he first declines to go into specifics on the technical details, and then highlights the voluntary scanning schemes (from 5:00 newsroom.consilium.europa.eu/e)

Highly misleading because there is no voluntary scanning with CSS (for ).

Ignoring Gall's Law will kill your company.

"A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked. A complex system designed from scratch never works and cannot be patched up to make it work."

You can't get away with ignoring this law pre-product market fit. You simply don't have the runway to let someone make a complex monster that doesn't really do anything welll. If someone tries, they'll usually get fired fairly quickly.

인용 실례. 정말입니다. 전 PC 크롬에 트위터 추천 그냥 띄워놓고 있을 때가 많은데 (영업 계정이어서) 켜놓는 것만으로도 하루 최대 read 트래픽을 리밋까지 소진해서 1) 인용이 안 보이거나 2) 내가 트윗을 추가로 쓰거나 RT할 수 없게 됩니다. 3) 만약 스크립트나 클릭 연타 등을 이용해서 억지로 트윗하면 해킹으로 간주해서 계정이 잠깁니다.
