What is Hackers' Pub?

Hackers' Pub is a place for software engineers to share their knowledge and experience with each other. It's also an ActivityPub-enabled social network, so you can follow your favorite hackers in the fediverse and get their latest posts in your feed.

Meet @adrigen and Lee: Buy Nothing group admins co-designing our Mutual Aid Networks stretch goal. Their video and article reveal why gifting communities need more than "Facebook groups but federated", they need infrastructure built for proximity, self-governance, and generosity.

"SCE to AUX" the famous words said by EECOM engineer John Aaron that saved the Apollo 12 mission.

On Nov 14, 1969, Apollo 12 was struck by lightning twice in the 1st minute after launch, causing a major power outage in the spacecraft. All 3 fuel cells got disconnected from the power bus; the inertial navigation system went awry.

Switching the Signal Conditioning Equipment to auxiliary power restored telemetry to mission control and to computing equipment.

also inside my box is 16f628a on some prototype board, which was supposed to convert sun type 5 keyboard into ps/2. i recall it never worked, but i lacked the means and knowledge to debug it back then.
i now have a converter based on arduino pro micro, so it makes me wonder if it's worth trying to debug my old converter or not. it might be nice to resurrect what is likely one of my oldest incomplete projects. but i don't see much point to it. i'm not sure if i even have any device that accepts ps/2 here to test with now.

Kdejaká ocasovina se vymáhá. ESG a další ocasoviny pořád nejsou zrušeny.

@mkljczkmikołajczyk, podobno I think the ‘中文 (en: Chinese)’ option on the modified display language selector can be removed as it is no longer working and there are already three sub-division options ‘简体中文 (en: Simplified Chinese)’, ‘繁體中文(香港)(en: Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong))’ and ‘繁體中文(臺灣) (en: Traditional Chinese (Taiwan))’.

tootik v0.19.9
=> github.com/dimkr/tootik
tootik is a federated nanoblogging service for the small internet.
tootik allows people to participate in the fediverse using their Gemini, Gopher or Finger client of choice and makes the fediverse lighter, more private and more accessible. tootik's interface strips content to bare essentials (like text and links), puts the users in control of the content they see and tries to "slow down" the fediverse to make it more compatible with the slower pace of the small internet.
It's a single executable that handles both the federation (using ActivityPub) and the frontend (using Gemini) aspects, while sqlite takes care of persistency. It should be lightweight and efficient enough to host a small community even on a cheap server, and hopefully, be easy to hack on.
tootik implements only a small subset of ActivityPub, and probably doesn't really conform to the spec.
