Wie zu erwarten war, geht durch den Verkauf an nun den Bach runter. Der neue Besitzer hat AGB und Datenschutz geändert. Die Arduino-Plattform ist somit wohl nicht mehr unter freier Lizenz. Auch erhält Qualcomm eine Nutzungsgenehmigung für alle hochgeladenen Materialien (cloud-compiler anyone?), ergänzt User-Tracking und speichert Daten zukünftig in einer Form, die in der EU IMO nicht zulässig ist.

Qualcomm-owned Arduino quietly pushed a sweeping rewrite of its Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and the changes mark a clear break from the open-hardware ethos that built the platform. The new documents introduce an irrevocable, perpetual license over anything users upload, broad surveillance-style monitoring of AI features, a clause preventing users from identifying potential patent infringement, years-long retention of usernames even after account deletion, and the integration of all user data (including minors) into Qualcomm’s global data ecosystem. Welche Karte hättest du gerne als Default Karte für Apple Pay? Die von bunq, bunq oder von bunq? Nein Dummerchen, wir lassen dich deine Karten natürlich nicht umbenennen, unsere Kunden haben nur eine Karte bei jeder Bank und brauchen sowas wie "mehrere Konten" nicht.

폐쇄적으로 변하는 안드로이드 관련 글의 댓글에 웹을 쓸 수 있으면 웹을 쓰자는 의견이 있던데 사실 지금 상황 보면 웹이 답인 것 같음
오프라인에서는 못 쓰긴 하지만 온라인 서비스의 경우에는 인터넷이 필수니까 상관 없고

One thing that blows my mind about this:

You can get an 800W balcony solar system for €229 from a grocery store.

At an average cost of €0.38/kWh in Germany, this system pays for itself once it produces 603 kWh of power, which takes 753 hours of full sun.

A German summer has roughly 1400 hours of daylight.

Means this pays for itself over less than two summer months.

If you’re one of my 3 stalkers (HEY Y’ALL!), you might’ve noticed that I started to write about Haskell recently. If not, well you know now :) Haskell is a nice language in a way that it teaches one (i.e. me) a new tricks. Tricks from Haskell that I started started wrtiting a piece about. I’m at the trick of small functions but I also recently read an interesting article with which I don’t (in general) agree and decided to follow on –1 Small functions considered harmful.

In and around 2023, Roy and Rianne Schestowitz were subject to a horrific campaign of online harassment. Unfortunately they blamed me for it, and in turn wrote and published an astonishing array of articles making false accusations against me. Last year, I sued them in the high court in London. In turn, they countersued me for harassment. The case was heard last month and I'm pleased to say that the counterclaim was dismissed and I prevailed in my case. The court awarded me £70,000 in damages.

Warning ⚠️ Google Gemini AI apparently can describe some fediverse profiles correctly to the point of exposing people's full name or making shit up. Implement safety ASAP.

Edit: I think my braincells after hours of being fried might figured out that some of those situations might be Gemini grabbing references from other websites that the person/user might have same or similar username. Even higher chances if the user has mentioned their fedi profile there. It got information that shouldn't be displayed. I guess it's time to not use same username everywhere. It's wrong anyway because ????? Why would an AI do that ?????
