How broken is today's frontend culture?

@fugueishChris Palmer points out that the median *mobile* page is now larger than a copy of DOOM (2.6 MiB vs. 2.48 MiB), the P75 page is larger than 2 DOOMs, and the P90 mobile page is 4.5x the size of DOOM:

NEW | Arab States Deepen Military Ties with Israel Despite Gaza Genocide

Several Arab governments are expanding long-term military partnerships with Israel, even as Tel Aviv wages a US-backed genocide in Gaza, The Economist reports.

Morocco recently announced it will host a production line for Israeli-designed attack drones, marking the first time an Israeli weapons system is manufactured in an Arab country. Since normalizing ties under the 2020 Abraham Accords, Rabat has already purchased Israeli artillery, air-defense missiles, drones, and even a spy satellite.

Additionally, the UAE has acquired two Israeli missile systems, Bahrain uses Israeli radar for coastal defense, and Indonesia has purchased Israeli weaponry despite lacking formal diplomatic ties. Israeli spyware like Pegasus was being used by Gulf monarchies long before the accords, targeting activists and dissidents.

Israel’s Defense Ministry reported $1.7 billion in arms sales to Abraham Accords signatories in 2024, about 12% of its total weapons exports, deepening strategic dependence on Israeli technology.

is turning retired cranberry bogs into natural wetlands. They’re on track to rewild 1,000 acres

Massachusetts is home to 13,000 acres of cranberry bogs, making it the second-largest cranberry-producing region in the U.S. and the third-largest in the world. The bright, red berries are the state’s moneymaker, contributing over $1.7 billion to the state's economy annually.
