spent the last day fighting a gnarly issue (bug?) in how Next 16 Cache Components interact with atproto OAuth flow (cc @matthieu.bsky.team@bsky.brid.gy). might be a Next bug or not, anyway i filed github.com/vercel/next....

What’s happening in Gaza right now?

The Israeli army has carried out air raids and home demolitions in the military-controlled yellow zone across the Gaza Strip.

Israeli aircraft struck several areas in Rafah, while naval vessels fired shells towards the city’s coastline, local sources and witnesses told the Anadolu news agency.

Israel’s army vehicles stationed near the Morag Axis, northeast of Rafah, conducted sweeping operations and shot heavy gunfire in the area.

As depressing as it sounds, 70,000 people killed is still a conservative reading. The reality on the ground is even more shocking. Many people are still missing – trapped, buried under rubble.

Gaza university resumes in-person classes

The Islamic University of Gaza has begun the first steps towards a gradual return to in-person learning, inside buildings damaged by Israeli air raids and partly reduced to rubble.

Within partially restored, cracked walls, hundreds of students returned to classrooms in a scene that reflects the determination of Gaza to reclaim life and education despite the scars of war.

Bodies of thousands of Palestinians remain trapped under the rubble

A small number of bodies of missing Palestinians have been recovered from under the rubble of homes.

That was possible because their families knew when they fled the horror of the bombardment, that they left behind some of their loved ones who wanted to stay and avoid being forcibly displaced.

But it’s only limited to these families. There’s still close to 10,000 people missing under the rubble.

소위 기업 레벨의 의사결정을 주도하는 개새끼들 (그게 구체적으로 경영인지 PR인지 아니면 뭐시깽이인지 구체적 층위는 내 알 바가 아니다)의 파탄난 모럴이 여기서 드러난다는 거다. 이 인간적으로 고장난 개새끼들이 평가하는 스코프는 오직 극도로 국한된 '손익'에 제한되어서 그 밖의 요소를 모조리 무시해놓고는 그게 '합리적' 이라고 강변한다. 제정신인 사람 눈에는 진짜로 미친놈으로밖에 안 보이는데, 거기에 뭔가 '지들 바닥'에서 통하는 그럴싸한 도메인-특이적 이름을 붙여놓고는 '원래 그런거' 라고 우긴다. 그럴 리가 있냐?

Ukrajina vstupuje do další zimy ve válečných podmínkách. Tentokrát ale zemi čekají podle prezidenta Volodymyra Zelenského vůbec ty nejhorší zimní měsíce.
ℹ️ Rusko sahá ke strategii zanechat Ukrajince ve tmě i chladu – pokouší se tak zlomit jejich morálku. Letos se navíc ve velkém zaměřilo nejen na elektrárny a rozvodné sítě, ale také na plynárenskou infrastrukturu.

Inmiddels is duidelijk dat post-infectueuze ziektes tot veel langere gezondheidsschade kunnen leiden. Mensen die al tientallen jaren leven met de gevolgen van lyme, ME of Q- koorts bijvoorbeeld…

Daarom roep ik de overheid op om alle mensen in Nederland beter te beschermen en te investeren in structureel beleid op:
➡️Preventie: er kan zoveel! En voorkomen is beter en goedkoper dan niet genezen
➡️Onderzoek naar effectieve behandeling

맞음. 쿠팡은 이런 규모의 데미지에 대해서 보상할 능력이 없음. 법은 이런 종류의 피해에 대해서 산정할 기준이 없음. 기술이나 제도에는은 모든 종류의 브리치를 예방할 수 있는 해법이 존재하지 않음. 그렇지만 - 아니, 그렇기 때문에 일어난 이상은 쿠팡의 잘못이라고 치고 세부는 따로 참작하는 식으로 처리하는 거다. 그래서 쿠팡이 해야 하는 일은 보상도 반성도 아니고 오직 '신실한 책임의 자세' 보이기이다. 극단적으로 말하면 그거만 보이면 나머지는 어떻게 비벼버려도 납득해줄 수 있다. 그런데 그 하나를 절대 못한다.

People who knows the ins and outs of GPU programming these days. Would it be ill-advised to base the rendering/compositing/effects etc in a drawing application fully on GPU, either regular rendering or compute? My worries is that different hardware have different enough results that it's somehow a problem.

It somewhat feels like a image manipulation app should give the exact same result on all computers, but... I don't know. Maybe it's not a problem.
