@feliks @davidgerard thanks, I am now imagining a game with a maze of railroad tracks and hostages, and the player has to type the correct git invocations to save the hostages from trains entering the switchyard with ever increasing frequency. There is a peppy 8-bit era soundtrack. Can I go on the track, instead?

All das ist
Es ist genug Geld da!
hat kein Ausgabenproblem, sondern ein Einnahmenproblem !
Holt das Geld da wo es ist:
Bei Superreichen, Spekulanten, Bund, Ländern und aus dem Sondervermögen Infrastruktur ....

🕙 Hurricane's NTP 🕚

Their "NTP Stratum 1" clocks are part of the global internet's network-time infrastructure which assists in defining reality (for most).

They've been rad since the 90s... so (to no surprise) just look at the IPv4 addresses they have allocated for two of their three NTP clusters.

clock.sjc.he.net (216.218.254.202)
clock.fmt.he.net (216.218.192.202)

The glorious x.x.192.x and x.x.254.x 💗

@dansup @PixelFed I’m not as invested in this topic as others in this thread seem to be, but it’s definitely worth taking a step back and thinking not about what feedback you’ve received but instead about what your app is /trying to be/.

Adding features is nice, but people use different apps for different reasons. You should serve what makes Pixelfed great, not try to make an everything app. ActivityPub is an open protocol; anyone can develop another app if demand is there

Taking Notes for Social Web CG taskforce meetings

Emelia @thisismissem@activitypub.space

Hi all,

I've recently had some questions about what tool to use for note taking during taskforce meetings, personally I've been using hedgedoc from social.coop, but it's a private instance and you need an invited account. I've also used hackmd in the past. I've seen other taskforces use Google Docs, and I think one even used CryptPad.

Officially the W3C way of scribing meetings is via an IRC bot: https://www.w3.org/2006/tools/wiki/WebExBestPractices#Meeting_Record_(Minutes)

i've been roped into writing mods for europa unversalis 5. you might remember posting a thread about this game's engine a few days ago.

this game is really easy to mod! there's an incredible jetbrains plugin that -- no joke -- is better thought out and designed than plugins for some actual programming languages i've used before. for a video game about clicking on maps.

however, i've just discovered something a bit cursed: the game wants you to save all mod files in microsoft's awful UTF-8 with BOM encoding. if you don't, the game will complain about it, but load it anyway.

i'm gonna have to BOMify all the files, because i foresee a dark future where not doing so causes a subtle bug that i spend hours debugging.
