"Marktplatz Lernapps" des österr. Bildungsministeriums.

Ich bin überrascht, dass die Evaluierung einer App nur 4+ Wochen dauert, während Schulbücher noch immerdrei Jahre für eine Überarbeitung brauchen.
Das hat sicher der Sepp entbürokratisiert.

IBM to Acquire Confluent for $11 billion. The AI boom cycle continues. For those who don't know Confluent Cloud is their main biz which is a fully managed Apache Kafka clusters and serverless Kafka & ksqlDB. newsroom.ibm.com/2025-12-08-ib

They still have opensource version kafka.apache.org/ but I'm sure like RHEL they will start adding restrictions or stop sharing features/source code that made it popular among banks, fin-tech, telco, insurance and other enterprisey IT stuff.

via Hackernews. It really is comical the lengths to which companies will go to avoid being contacted by their customers.

What the fuck is a ‘fuck off contact page?’

"A “fuck off contact page” is what a company throws together when they actually don’t want anyone to contact them at all. They are usually found on the websites of million or billion dollar companies, likely Software-as-a-service (SaaS) companies that are trying to reduce the amount of money they spend on support by carefully hiding the real support channels behind login walls. These companies tend to offer multiple tiers of support, with enterprise customers having a customer success manager who they can call on this ancient device we call phones, whereas the lower-paying customers may have to wrangle various in-app ticket mechanisms. If you solve your own problem by reading the knowledge base, then this is a win for the company. They don’t want to hear from you, they want you to fuck off."

By extension, a lot of these same companies with "fuck off" contact pages tend to also hide how to get in touch with them if you're a reporter, directing all inquiries to a generic address like info@ and omitting any email addresses or phone numbers from press releases.

Dear Fediverse, thank you for being a safe haven from AI slop.

This morning, I checked out Pinterest for the first time in forever and saw an image purporting to be a LEGO set that was obviously AI generated - yuck!

Then on Reddit's popular page there was a video compilation of people saving children from terrible falls = AI slop.

YouTube's homepage: a short video showing a child and her dog covered in mud = AI slop.

What was I thinking? I should visit and instead...

It's somewhat nice that malicious crypto miners exist, because they seem to be way faster (for most cases) on the uptake of new RCE exploits and they do fairly harmless (CPU time abuse) actions.

Friend found their react server components server down, and upon investigating found the docker container that normally had their JS server process in, was now ./3s83jmfv.out (I guess it had killed the main process to secure a monopoly for that instance)

Annoying? Sure, but that is way better than "hello I have just nicked your .env file and ransomware/blackmailed you"

I for one am glad that the crypto mining worm people are here to out-compete the more nasty people!
