Going a bit off the beaten path for #FreeSoftwareAdvent, today I get to appreciate HaikuOS¹. While it has some issues (mostly keyboard-mapping) that prevent me from using it as the main OS on my writerdeck netbook, it is AMAZING in how well it uses resources. That little underpowered Atom processor with its 2G of RAM just flies. It boots in a fraction of the time of anything else (other than DOS) that I've installed on the hardware. The GUI and all the applications are delightfully snappy.
So please join me in sending a little praise toward the 
@haiku project for all the wonderful work they do!

근황 보고.
트위터에 다시는 돌아가지 못하게 됐습니다. 이번이 첫 제재인데 대체 뭐가 '반복적인 위반'이라는 건지 모르겠으나, 이 망할 새끼들이 '아무튼 그렇다'고 합니다. 오늘부터 '일론 머스크 사망 기원 1일차'라고 써붙여야 할까 싶습니다.
11월 3일에 제재 상황을 처음으로 발견하고 이의 제기를 즉각 넣었으나 여태 별다른 답변을 못 받았던 가운데, 어제(12월 9일) 제재에 대한 이의 제기를 다시 할 수 있는 상태가 된 걸 발견해서, 이번엔 좀 강한 어조로 불만을 표출했더니 이렇게 됐습니다. 이미 11월 3일 이래 블루스카이에 정착해서 지내고는 있지만, 이 쪽도 최근에 이스라엘 시오니스트 새끼들 좀 욕했다고 계정이 제재돼 터져버린 사례가 나와서 '영원히 마음놓고 시원하게 욕하며 지낼 수 있는' SNS는 어디에도 없다고 생각하는 게 좋겠습니다.
아마 여기서도 뭔가 문제가 생기거든, 종국적으로는 Nostr에 자리를 잡는 일까지 생기겠지요. 그 때도 연락하실 분들은 Bio에 있는 LinkTree 주소를 참조해주시면 되겠습니다.

Do you want to run a Linux or Unix/macOS program directly after some other process has ended? Use the pwait as follows:
```pwait pid && new_app1```
For example, for demo run sleep for 1200 and wait to end and then run the app2:

See the `pwait` man page for more info as syntax changes slightly between Linux and BSD version. This is very handy utility and not well known to many:

If I get an email with a Word doc attached, and I open the attachment, why does Word let me edit and save the document in the "Mail Attachments" folder!? Make it read-only and force me to save it someplace real before editing... Grr.
Is there a way to make it behave more reasonably? (Mac, Apple Mail btw)
