During the November 2025 TPAC week, Fuqiao Xue, W3C Senior Principal Internationlization Specialist, honored Addison Phillips for over 20 years of leading W3C’s internationalization work, welcomed new chair Joel Sahleen, and highlighted recent I18N achievements. As part of our TPAC 2025 recaps, Roy Ruoxi Ran and @dontcallmeDOMDominique Hazael-Massieux blogged about "AI at TPAC 2025", reporting on how different groups addressed AI.

The post also noted the new Web & AI Interest Group, a chartered group that aims to provide a forum to explore and discuss how emerging AI-related technologies impact and intersect with the web and consider how the community could collaborate to shape these evolutions for the benefit of web users.

Take the time to read {again} how Stephan has built a self hosted CDN using OpenSource programming and tools.

He literally shares the code. From what I processed, this method can scale up quite easily. You can build a super large CDN yourself using similar modus operandi.

No corporate CDN, but the insight, resilience and technical expertise of a great programmer, with the Passion and Curiosity of someone visionary.

Formalization of Auslander--Buchsbaum--Serre criterion in Lean4

We present a comprehensive formalization in the Lean4 theorem prover of the Auslander--Buchsbaum--Serre criterion, which characterizes regular local rings as those Noetherian local rings with finite global dimension. Rather than following the well-known proof that computes the projective dimension of the residue field via quotient by regular sequences and uses the Koszul complex to bound the cotangent space dimension by the global dimension, our approach is built systematically on the formalization of depth defined via the vanishing of Ext functors. We establish key homological results including Rees' theorem, the Auslander--Buchsbaum formula, and Ischebeck's theorem, and further develop the theories of Cohen--Macaulay modules and rings, including a complete formalization of the unmixedness theorem for Cohen--Macaulay rings. To prove the Auslander--Buchsbaum--Serre criterion, we show that maximal Cohen--Macaulay modules over regular local rings are free and establish a weakened form of the Ferrand--Vasconcelos theorem specific for the unique maximal ideal. As corollaries, we deduce that regularity can be checked at maximal ideals and formalize Hilbert's Syzygy Theorem. This work demonstrates how homological algebra can be effectively employed in the formalization of commutative algebra, providing extensive infrastructure for future developments in the field.

Release v3.2.3 of Ktistec includes two big features:

  • FEP-1b12 Group federation
    Improved federation with Lemmy and other forum-type servers. Ktistec supports community and thread follow/unfollow, as well as up-vote/like (down-vote/dislike is supported but there is no visual affordance for that yet).
  • FEP-9098 Custom emojis
    Support for viewing custom emoji in posts and on actor profiles. Ktistec does not yet support custom emoji creation and management.
