I have discovered that teaching programming goes much better with my fifth grade students if I take the time to teach them about all the symbols I think of as "normal" that are totally new to them.

"These are square brackets, you'll find them over the 'enter' key we use them for lists. In programming we have three kinds of brackets..."

This reduced confusion so much. And I feel a little silly for not realizing that OF COURSE they don't know what they characters are or how to type them.

has the vibes of a Roman high official who has been posted to some far northern backwater in England, surrounded by "uncultured" people. (us) who can't even run her palatial manner properly or deliver meals on time.

She is suffering so much poor creature.

That is how she is looking at me right now.

(I have added some photographic evidence of what she is like. Look at her!)

A brown tabby cat with big eyes resting on a tweed coat with one paw extended. She is a lovely little cat, with an expressive serious face looking right at you. The same little brown tabby cat with a white patch on her chest and the tip of her extended paw. Still resting on the tweed jacket. Her eyes are closed as if trying to find peace in a world of chaos and bad service.

If you get some electronics from a dude in a sketchy Amsterdam cafe, you might want to inspect it before trusting it- luckily he made that easy to do! Here are some IRIS-style backside IR photos of the Baochip by @bunnie

I used a 60degree, 1064nm power LED from Aliexpress as a light source, and imaged it using an RPi HQ camera with the IR filter removed mounted to our stereo inspection microscope.

今年は以外に忙しくてアドベントカレンダーに全く参加できていない。
…と思ったけど例年もなんとか参加したり参加しようとしたけど結局できなかったりとかだったからまあ例年通りなのかもしれない

Big change coming to BotKit: multi-bot support! :botkit: :botkit: :botkit:

Currently, each BotKit instance can only run a single bot. We're redesigning the architecture to let you host multiple bots—both static and dynamically created—on a single instance.

The new API will look like this:

const instance = createInstance({ kv });
const greetBot = instance.createBot("greet", { ... });
const weatherBots = instance.createBot(async (ctx, id) => { ... });

Check out the full design:
