Hackers' Pub is a place for software engineers to share their knowledge and experience with each other. It's also an ActivityPub-enabled social network, so you can follow your favorite hackers in the fediverse and get their latest posts in your feed.
"Shared block lists" are a common ask but I keep hearing on #bluesky there are lots of problems with them (e.g. someone can get on a list too easily with no recourse)
Has anyone written up an analysis of these issues, both pro/con of shared block lists? I'm not asking for a huge discussion, I just expect there are a few writeups on this topic and I'm looking for links.
Do you folks know any #Python meetups that would be happy to host a remote talk?

anyone on here use(d) Plait (racket hashlang, https://docs.racket-lang.org/plait/index.html) for teaching? i'm teaching undergrad PL for the first time in the spring, one of two sections, and a bunch of material (lectures, assignments, etc) has already been developed using it. i'm evaluating it in the interest of using the same material, looking to compare notes.

2025년을 마무리하며 ... 올해부터 눈에 띄게 보이는 패턴: 프로젝트 발표가 있는 강의 같은 데서, 학생에게 '흥미로운 분석을 하셨는데 어떤 걸 측정해서 그런 결론을 내신 거죠?' 라고 하면 갑자기 ChatGPT나 Gemini에게 물어봐서 본인은 *모른다*고 자백함. 당황스러운데 이제 반복되니 좀 익숙해지기도 했고 ... 나도 그런 언어모델을 직접 쓸 수 있는데 왜 GPT의 말씀을 전하러 온 사신[1]이랑 얘기하고 있는지도 모르겠고 ... 뭐 그렇다. [1] 과대평가다. 실제 사신이면 그것보다 훨씬 더 내용을 숙지했을 것임.
