Finally did my end of year donation spree today. This time of year there's often matching campaigns or the like.

I know it's been a rough year for many and being able to donate to things is a privilege. If you can't donate to causes, just try and be kind.

I'm gonna highlight some of the groups/causes I donated to in this thread. Perhaps it will inspire others.

On Sunday, Dr. Jamal Al-Hamass, Medical Director of the Kuwait Field Hospital in Gaza, announced that the facility has halted both emergency and scheduled surgeries due to a severe shortage of medical supplies amid the Israeli closure of crossings.

The hospital handles around 35 surgeries daily across various specialties, including approximately seven childbirth procedures. The suspension of these services is endangering patients’ lives and worsening their health conditions.

Al-Hamass also noted that saline solution is currently unavailable, with the entire stock depleted, despite being essential for most urology operations.

We’ve published our 2025 report outlining the Foundation’s software development and infrastructure efforts. "良識あるほとんどの人は、自分も世界も終わって欲しいとは思わないものだ。世界悪しかれ、社会悪しかれと願いながら努力を続けるような人はそう滅多にいるものではない。"

そう思うし、それこそが救いだとも思う。昔は良かったと懐かしむのは容易いけれど、目にしているのは常に不可逆変化。過去に執着することなく、しかし希望は捨てずに生きていきたいものだ。

It would be nice if the world started to try improving human rights worldwide for a little while, instead of killing and exploiting each other.

It would be nice if tech started to improve our lives and listen to users' needs for a little while, instead of stealing our data and tracking us everywhere.

It would be nice if people worked on being kinder and more empathetic with each other for a little while, instead of always trying to pick fights and downvote others.

It would be nice.

Hey folx! I have an for ya!

GMs: What is your top tip for running good games (that *hasn't* been mentioned yet)?

Players: What's something your GM has done to make the game awesome that you wish more GMs would do (that *hasn't* been mentioned yet)?

---

I'll start (with one of each).

As a GM, I use the 3-act play / 5-room dungeon style as often as possible. It keeps things tight, makes for satisfying progression, and can be scaled to work for almost anything.

As a player, I was shocked the first time a GM of mine rolled some dice and said "you hit, and it takes Blorp out of the fight, what does that look like?". Every GM I'd had previously would've just said "you kill Blorp". That one question has made playing characters *feel* so much more epic.

NEW, by me: Uzbekistan exposed its nationwide license plate surveillance system to the web, no password needed.

The system reveals around a hundred locations around the country where banks of cameras have been placed, including big cities and rural areas. The system contains raw video footage of millions of vehicles and their occupants.
