『야시카』는 1차세계대전기에 남성만 징병하던 러시아군에 자원하여 여성인 군인이 되었고, 여성으로 구성된 부대를 이끌다 러시아 혁명에 휘말린 마리야 보치카료바의 구술을 작가가 정리한 자서전입니다. 당시 러시아 농민의 삶이 어땠는지, 전쟁이 사람들에게 어떻게 다가왔는지, 볼셰비키와 그렇지 않은 사람들이 어떻게 충돌했는지 등을 엿볼 수 있게 해 주는 생동감 있는 책입니다. 러시아 연구자인 역자의 해제를 통해 자서전의 서술과 충돌하는 역사적 통설, 읽을 때의 주의점 등을 짚고 넘어가는 부분이 있어, 하나의 이야기로서 이 책을 읽고 난 다음에는 어떤 거리를 유지하고 생각해보게 됩니다.
책에서 묘사되는 '군중'의 묘사를 보고 있으면 그 때 그 자리에 있는 사람의 힘이란 정말 무시무시한 것이라는 생각을 하게 됩니다. 물론 저자의 과장, 기억의 윤색 같은 것이야 있을 수 있겠지만, 이 책에서 묘사되는 것들이 군중으로서의 사람들이 '자발적으로' 행할 수 있는 일의 범위 바깥에 있다고 생각하지 않습니다. 민(民)의 주인(主)됨에는 자신에게 일어난 일의 책임을 자기 스스로 진다는 계약이 있다고 생각합니다. 이 책이 묘사하는 사건으로부터 100년이 넘게 흐른 지금, 우리는 그 계약을 충분히 고려하고 행동하고 있을까요?
『전쟁은 여자의 얼굴을 하지 않았다』, 『1차세계대전사』가 생각나는 책이기도 했습니다. 과거로부터 배워야하지만, 과거에 있었던 끔찍한 일들에 대해 읽고 오래 생각하면 심정적으로 힘들어지네요.

the guy is Charles Iliya Krempeaux, his past history is an assortment of dodgy Canadian fintechs and being a "startup entrepreneur", this is his attempt to monetise the fediverse. when it goes south, he's rich enough to leave you dangling. as those foolish enough to sign up have discovered, it already doesn't actually work.
on the plus side, it isn't literally crypto. on the minus side, it just smells like it.

IT関連のアウトソースって結構きちんと打ち合わせとか瑕疵担保責任とかを契約に入れて、なおかつ説明するのにそこに行ったりしないとなかなかうまく行かないと思います。
今のはやりは自社内に持たないと結局自社のIT関連部署が育たないということで内製化が流行っているようです。
