In 1991, a uni student from Finland started a "hobby" project because he couldn't afford to pay expensive Unix license that could run on a commodity hardware. At the time, he told on the mailing list that his project wouldn't be anything "big or professional."

It turned out that he was totally wrong.

@serenity 🧄Update de première importance : j'ai une nouvelle technique pour l'ail, je coupe en deux horizontalement pour que ça soit bien à plat sur la planche, j'écrase fermement à la spatule en bois (comme ça je m'enfonce pas une lame de couteau dans la main quand ça glisse) c'est rigolo ça fait plop, et ensuite je hache finement en longueur en abaissant relevant le couteau puis perpendiculairement en rayon sans avoir besoin de toucher l'ail qui est bien compacté égalisé.
