People say “Comments should explain why, not what.” I feel like starting a flame war today so I’m going to argue that comments should explain ‘what’ too. Please don’t use this as justification to write bad code, okay? Okay. First of all, why shouldn’t comments explain ‘what’? If you need comments to explain what’s going on, it suggests your code is unclear. If I write //weight, radius, price w = 10, r = 9, p = 1 That’s not as clear as saying

Thanks to Roy Tam, John Elliot and Microsoft OEM Adaptation kit, I managed to convert Windows 3 fonts to a format that Windows 1 display driver I'm using for this port can understand.

The font comes from Windows 3, but the pixel data is Windows 1 FNT, and it is stored in Windows 2 FON container created by Windows 2 RC.EXE

Yesterday I listened to a random podcast and they said that you have to two things to deal with stress:

1. Deal with the source of the stress (do the task, solve the problem, settle the conflict, etc.)

2. Deal with the symptoms of the stress (rest, go for a walk, play video game, etc.)

I may not be smart but this has literally completely changed the way I used to think about stress. I thought you just have to do 1. and then you don't have a reason to be stressed anymore
