I'm sure that for a while I was being stalked by qntm's There is No Antimemetics Division. It kept appearing in sidebars of web pages or maybe in the output of recommendation engines. I can't remember exactly where, but it was clear that it wanted to be read by me. But that's not something I respond to well. I like to feel that I choose what I read by my own free will. And eventually it went quiet. Or I got better at filtering it from my view. But then suddenly I saw references in the mainstream media, no longer confined to the margins, and I guess my barriers just fell. Be warned, it'll grab you pretty hard and it won't let go until it's done with you.
