I mean you can block him and you'll never see anything he says again. But alas! You cannot stop people from talking about you! If only you could silence anyone you wanted, cutting them off from the people who do support them. Wouldn't that be great?

@cy see, this is a bad faith read of a serious post. It's entitled, dismissive, and sarcastic. I assume it's meant to get a rise out of me, and it would also serve to signal to anyone else reading this that being entitled, dismissive, and sarcastic is acceptable behavior in this space. It's not.

For posterity, you know it's not about whether I have to see your reply, because that's not what I said. I said it's about whether I have to carry your reply, and show it to everyone who comes by as though it had equal merit to the actually thoughtful and constructive replies it's sitting next to.

If I had better tools to moderate my own threads, I might be able to give you a chance to apologize and correct your behavior. But I don't have those better tools. I can only block you, to prevent further bad behavior. So that's what I'm doing.

When I was a kid my parents gave me a set of Childcraft books of which one was a book on art:

One of my favourite works in it was "Square of Three" by American artist Reginald Neal:

So I thought I'd write the shader. It's fun to stare at random parts for extended periods of time...

A black and white image of fine lines filling a square space arranged in a way that suggests a 3x3 grid of squares, each containing a nest of squares. It squirms about all over the place due to optical illusionary effects.

I am Anubis. You probably know who I am. I am a guide and protector. On here, however, I shall, most likely, talk and post about various topics which I am interested in. I am, of course, interested in Ancient Egypt and mythology, but also art, philosophy and religion. I am currently trying my hand at creating various (albeit very simple) emoji. I also enjoy music, writing and reading. I will, most likely, also share various jokes. Additionally, it is likely that I will also talk about various everyday events and technology and language.

I do not, as of yet, have my own website. However, I shall be working on creating on in the foreseeable future.

Feel free to talk to me if you wish, but please introduce yourself and state the reason for your wishing to talk to me. I am not the best at small talk.

Additionally, I would appreciate it if you could boost this post so that our newly-created instance can get some help with federation.

Stupid shit that aligns with our biases going viral is definitely not something the fediverse is immune to. Threads about this story *did* have the occasional critical reader questioning it, but 99% of the responses were jumping head-first into the rage bait. (And yes, free-lancer exploitation platforms need to go away—but giving up on truth isn't going to accomplish that.)

Have you ever noticed that the food graphics in Super Smash Bros. and Kirby Air Riders is flat “billboarded” stock images of food? This artistic decision from director Masahiro Sakurai has persisted through 8 games over nearly 25 years.

While researching every game with this art style and all 150+ unique food images I ended up fixing wikis, reviewing a seasonal KitKat flavor, and preserving an uncatalogued image of tempura soba.

akr.am/blog/posts/why-is-the-g

saigoneer.com/vietnam-news/286

[Veille 📣] How We Lost Communication to Entertainment
ploum.net/2025-12-15-communica
