Congratulations to Ellen Zhong and Mohammad Seyedsayamdost on being selected for an Eric and Wendy Schmidt Transformative Technology Fund award!

Zhong, assistant professor of computer science, is working with Seyedsayamdost, professor of chemistry, to develop a new AI system to transform how scientists identify small molecules.

Their work is one of four Princeton research projects to be selected for funding this year: bit.ly/44Zc1x9

If you want to hear Venezuelans' perspective on what's going on in VE – you know, the perspective that should be the one that actually matters… – here's a recording of a great session from yesterday:

And if you're seeking a reliable English language VE news source, this was recommended:
caracaschronicles.com/

I am immensely grateful to these folks for making the effort to explain stuff, in English, at a time when I can only imagine spoons are in extremely short supply.

Just FYI: this is part of the damage being done by extractive AI companies. Their scraper bots routinely DDOS us, and they multiply to take up as much bandwidth as is available. We are having to put a huge percentage of our developers’ time into just keeping the site alive rather than building its future. They are actively destroying everything worthwhile about the internet. @helloKnowledge Commons hcommons.social/@hello/1158546

You bolt awake in the mountains of Carthage. You are not online. It is 217 BC. You are the general Hannibal, and you have changed your mind. The future cannot come to pass. Rome must burn.
