I'm also taking stock of how many of these people are men.
You may want to check yourself for how much you are exploiting the generosity of people around you, especially across social power gradients (cf kyriarchy). It's worth paying attention to. (And then do better.)

With build 1.4.0, it is now possible to easily dump effective package metadata!
So getting the version of a package in the current directory is now as easy as `pipx run build --metadata 2>/dev/null | jq -r .version`.
This is NOT like parsing pyproject.toml or whatever. It builds the package and looks at the result. So it works even with setup.py.

In my isolation life, I find that I can think I'm okay about something until the rare occasion that I talk with another person, and then when I talk out loud about the same thing I fall apart.
I suspect this may be related to the ambient stress of these times combined with how rarely I hear direct human speech or engage in a conversation that is not time-shifted.
Can anyone who lives in relative silence or isolation relate?
