In Australia, SEGA is pronounced SEE-GAH but in some other countries I'm led to believe it's pronounced SAY-GAR.

After intensive research I have found that SEGA is a shortened version of "SErvice GAmes of Japan", which sold slot machines to US military bases after WW2.

So SEGA is most fairly pronounced SER-GAY.

There you go, now nobody is happy

黃偉哲下午在永華市政中心召開記者會表示，今天宣布台南市自9月1日起實施營養午餐免費，並非理想選擇，而是在潘朵拉盒子被打開後不得不做出的回應。

他說，以每餐新台幣60元、每年約200個上課日計算，每名學生每年約需1.2萬元；台南市有約14萬名國中小學生，全年經費超過16億元，這筆經常性支出勢必排擠其他重大公共建設與教育投資。"

Die fehlende professionelle Distanz zu LLMs und GenAI in meinem beruflichen Umfeld macht mir zunehmend zu schaffen.

Menschen, die seit Jahren ihr Geld mit dem Abwägen technischer Lösungen verdienen, sind inzwischen in einem Modus unterwegs, der Probleme für eine Lösung sucht. Die Geschwindigkeit, mit der KI alles durchdringt, erscheint manchen sogar unzureichend.

Die ökologischen, sozialen und moralischen Auswirkungen werden ausgeblendet oder sind halt der Preis, den man für Fortschritt bezahlen muss.

It is unfortunately unavoidable that every time I post something in a positive way, among the first replies is always a guy (it's always a guy) that immediately tries to destroy positivity by injecting his negative take. These people seem to hate that other people (like me) feel good about things at times. I ignore them out of habit, but I really wish they would simply disappear from my timeline. Rant over.

Life is about growing up, looking outside, and dreaming of stepping beyond your shell. Escaping from the darkness and heading toward the light.

I'm particularly fond of this photo. Because that window was mine. And that cat, in a way, was me back then.
